Gnomeo and Juliet

imageWhy did I see this movie? I don’t know. This movie is graffiti on the soul of Shakespeare. Did I spoil the ending for you already? If I didn’t, now I’m going to.

Gnomeo and Juliet don’t die at the end, but then you should’ve guessed that by the vapidity of the title. As you can imagine, I didn’t walk into the theater expecting much.
Yet, I was still underwhelmed. What followed was a pathetic rehash of Romeo and Juliet in the simplest terms, and with lawn gnomes, sandwiched in between a slew of hit songs by Elton John (who, it just so happens, was executive producer on this worthless money magnet), lest I forget the talking statue of Shakespeare himself, seriously.
In the interest of time, (and because there’s nothing more to say), I speak from the heart: Do not waste your money on this!
