As many of you know, Election Day will soon be upon us. What does that mean for students and staff at Mckendree?

I urge those of you who have not voted by mail or absentee ballot to join the ALL-IN Campus Democracy Committee in the Hett on Nov. 3, for a safe, judgement & harassment-free zone to fill out and drop your vote for the 2020 presidential election. Social distancing policies will be enforced and face-coverings will be required throughout the voting process for your safety.

The event will be all day long on Tuesday, Nov. 3, starting at 7 a.m. and ending at 7 p.m. You must be registered to vote using your Mckendree on-campus address to vote with us in the Hett.

We will have information packets on the different propositions with unbiased factual descriptions, as well as the according affirmative and negative arguments on each subject available for your observation.

Dr. Ann Collins, a very popular political science professor and advisor of the All-In Committee, will be present at the event to answer any questions you may have, along with several highly informed individuals in the political science, and other involved departments.

Please note: It is too late for you to register with us on campus, BUT YOU CAN STILL REGISTER UP UNTIL THE SAME DAY OF THE ELECTION. You can visit the local elections office (different than any polling location) at 10 PUBLIC SQUARE FL 2, BELLEVILLE, IL 62220 -1623 to talk to the county clerk and register during the grace period.

Come Tuesday for all Mckendree registered voters, we will provide a private, safe place for you to cast your vote, and use your voice. For any other student registered to vote in the state of IL with a different address, undergraduate classes are being cancelled from 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. to allow you to visit a local polling location.

If you have any questions about the event, how to vote, or how voting works feel free to email Dr. Collins at avcollins@mckendree.edu or me at Isabella.strimling18@mckendree.edu. We are in this together, bearcats.
