Spooky Sex Wellness Fair & What You Missed

This fair is about getting into the spirit but also staying safe while doing so as Halloween is slowly approaching. I had the pleasure of attending this fair and explaining everything you could do if you could not make it! Encouraging Boards & Games The fair included multiple different project boards with a variety of different topics. One of the boards discussed healthy relationships and what is considered good or bad in a relationship. Getting Into the Fall Spirit!

In order to help the campus delve into the fall spirit, campus activities hosted pumpkin painting which was held in front of The Lair on Monday, October 24th. This event was held in the middle of the day from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and it was a success! So many students came out for the event that one of the head directors had to go get more pumpkins. If you were unable to attend the career fair, it is something to go to before you graduate to get a glimpse into what exactly goes on here! Not only does it showcase campus organizations but local restaurants and others are also there to help you with perks and advertisements! An example of a great food chain that was recognized is Raising Canes. I have made special trips just for a taste of their chicken. Spectrum Alliance Presents: Drag Show

By Grace Gross, Head Culture Editor Photos taken and collect by Grace Gross McKendree University Spectrum Alliance sponsored a drag show at the Hett on Friday, April 8th. This event was open to students, faculty and the general public. There was a very good turnout! Ella Lehman, president of Spectrum Alliance, stated that 130 people attended the drag show. Ella reached out to Roxxy Malone, the main host of the drag show, a few months ahead of time. “Roxxy put together the rest of the performers from her drag family and they all brought their own music and such, so that part was probably easiest.” Ella mentioned how the reservation process for the Hett was a bit complicated. “It went smoothly thanks to Liz Crabtree and Julia Hunt.” One of the most difficult parts of...

Four fields have games, crowds are cheering, and in the distance a faint beeping can be heard from each field. A batter steps up to the plate on field three with assistance from the pitcher. The batter requires assistance due to wearing a blindfold, along with almost every player on the field. This isn’t a crazy drinking game; this is Beepball. Beepball is a modified baseball game for the visually impaired. MindsEye, a nonprofit for the blind located in the Metro East area, hosts two local Beepball tournaments a year. When I started going to McKendree University I found some interesting things about their study abroad programs. McKendree offers five different study abroad opportunities. When looking at study abroad programs, one thing that students need to be aware of, though, is the GPA requirements. For example, if you even want to apply to any of these programs you have to have at least a 2.75 GPA and a minimum of 45 credit hours at McKendree. This means that a lot of preplanning is involved if you are thinking of doing study abroad. The first opportunity offered is through a company called the Institute for Study Abroad (IFSA: Butler). The students of FCA led around 100 people through a night of worship and prayer. This was the product of weeks of planning. So many things had to be prepared in order for the night to go smoothly: a speaker and a band had to be booked, students had to feel ready to give their testimonies, the field had to be available, the gym had to be ready in case we needed a backup space or place for bad weather, and there had to be plenty of advertising to make sure there was strong attendance.
