Phi Beta Lambda Makes a Comeback at McKendree

By Emily Stanowski, Staff Writer Much like The McKendree Review, McKendree University's Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) is becoming more active. PBL has been around for many years at McKendree, but wants to become more involved on and off campus this semester. Last semester, the group hosted a successful 5K, and is holding a trivia night in April to raise funds for members. This past month, the group attended the Winter Seminar Series at SWIC. The Series is held to prepare Southern Illinois’ PBL chapters for success at the State Leadership Conference on April 7-8. The conference gives students a chance to apply what they are learning in the classroom to the real world. Greek Life? What’s that?

BY: ALLY DEITERS                                                                                                                                 Staff Writer What is it about McKendree University that makes Greek Life less appealing or not as big as it could be? Could it be that we don’t have Greek housing where we could throw parties? Or could it be that it’s too expensive for students here? Or could it be that people don’t even know we offer it here because it’s not promoted very well? All of these reasons are very possible. We want to clear up all these questions and begin to make Greek Life a big organization on campus. What does it mean to be Greek?
