Limitless is the new thriller starring Bradley Cooper (The Hangover, The A-Team) and Robert De Niro. Cooper plays Eddie Morra, a struggling writer in New York City who isn’t fulfilling his potential, until he runs into his ex-wife’s brother, and former drug dealer, Vernon (Johnny Whitworth). Eddie tells Vernon about his writer’s block. Vernon has just the cure for Eddie’s troubles: NZT-48, a new drug that allows the user to access 100% of their brain.
It’s a damn interesting premise for a movie and while it doesn’t entirely fulfill its potential it’s still pretty great. Bradley Cooper is fantastic as the two different versions of Eddie, down and out writer and full-fledged genius. Robert De Niro is underused in his role as Carl Van Loon, a financial mogul who sees plenty of use for Eddie’s intelligent.
Not only is it an involving thriller, but it also manages to be very darkly comic. It’s a movie actually work the paying $10.50 to see. Go see it, I’ll highly doubt you’ll be disappointed.
