McKendree Named to Top 25 Colleges in Illinois List

By Jack MacLean, Copy Editor McKendree University has been named one of the 25 Best Colleges in Illinois by College Choice, an independent online publication which publishes rankings and reviews on colleges across the country. The 25 Best Colleges in Illinois, released on February 1, tabs McKendree University at number 19 overall, making it the 5th best private liberal arts college on the list. Parking needed on campus!

BY EMILY CONSEVAGE Contributing Writer Parking at McKendree University has been an issue among students and faculty for the past few years. Though the university has not made any drastic changes to resolve this problem, President Dennis and administration are well aware of this issue. There are currently eight parking lots for students, not including Stanton Street. The faculty members have four parking lots that are off-limits to students during the week. However, faculty can essentially park anywhere they want. Additionally, many McKendree students and faculty have noticed that the city of Lebanon has taken away many of the parking spots on campus. New organization is ready to take off

BY ANNA BELMONTE Staff Writer McKendree junior Jack MacLean is starting a new student organization, “Students Consulting for Nonprofit Organizations," or SCNO. MacLean wanted a student organization dedicated to building experience and résumés for students, freshman through senior. Please don’t cry about Wi-Fi

BY LAUREN REEVES Staff Writer This semester, students have sent numerous emails. Dialed in hyperventilated & breathless calls. And, frantically marched their way to the Information Technology (IT) department located in the lower level of the Marion K. Piper Academic Center. Why are the students doing this? The reason is that the students of McKendree University are fed up with the Wi-Fi capabilities offered. However, there is nothing to fear. Students no longer have to worry because IT is here to help. The department is aware of the issues users are facing when working with the Wi-Fi. Over the summer, IT was allowed to expand their offices in order to hire more staff members to combat all the issues that students may face.
