Before I get into my review let me give you a brief background of the band. Greek Fire is a local band from St. Louis. She has problems with her husband and decides to move away to see if she can support herself and her children. Throughout her journey, she faces a lot of adversity at her job. Josey and her fellow female coworkers work for a steel mining company which is thought to be a “man’s job”. The movie is focused on the harassment of women at this company. North Country reveals societies’ view on gender roles, as well as the harsh sexual harassment that occurs in Josey’s life. According to Fox 2 News, the movie, directed by Jennifer Chambers Lynch, is a suspense thriller about a St. Louis homicide detective who is put on a case dealing with a serial killer who kills and disposes the bodies of girls near the Chain of Rocks Bridge, while dealing with his own demons. The film is said to start filming in St. Louis this fall/winter, but for now it’s being filmed primarily in Louisiana. As an end-of-semester treat, therefore, I have decided to take a break from reporting on world events and focus instead on something that pleases me.
