Letter from the Head Producer

Hello Bearcats!

I’m Elana, McK Radio Head Producer. I graduate this December which means it is time to say goodbye to my home away from home, McKendree, and my unofficial dorm, Carnegie 110, also known as the podcasting studio.

This picture has nothing to do with the article, but it does help show my personality.

I joined McK Radio my freshman year of 2022. I had lots of fun creating podcasts but eventually got disgusted by the dirty room and began cleaning it (you can read more about that here). Life moved fast and by the fall of 2023, I had become Head Producer of the McK Radio.

My time on the McK Radio has been filled with fun and excitement. I started podcasting with my first series The Spooky History of McKendree in which I dug through the McKendree archives and retold the stories of college student shenanigans that occurred at our school.

Over the years I ran other podcast series: McK CatchupCollege Cliffnotes and Alumni Archives. I also began writing for the Review on occasion.

Me and former Editor-in-Chief Madison Rohn at the 2024 Involvement Fair

I have had so much fun over these past 3 and a half years podcasting, teaching fellow Bearcats about the equipment and meeting new people that I am sad to see it end. McKendree has come to feel like my home and Carnegie 110 my dorm (I’m a commuter, I don’t have a dorm okay).

I’m excited to see where this club goes in the future— both the McKendree Review and the McK Radio.

Thank you for tuning in to the McKendree Radio.
